Frequently Asked Questions

What is the first session like?

It is common to feel nervous going into the first therapy session. My goal is for clients to see quickly that this is a safe place where they can be themselves.  The purpose of the first session is for us to get to know one another. You will be able to share your background and what brings you to counseling at this time of your life. We will also discuss confidentiality and begin setting goals for your counseling experience. You can bring your questions or concerns to any session!

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. This means that your insurance company recognizes me as a provider, but I do not submit to insurance on clients' behalf. Upon request, I am happy to provide a superbill, or receipt for services, that can be sent to insurance for reimbursement. I encourage clients to contact their insurance provider prior to booking a session.

What is the cancellation policy?

Your session time is a reserved space just for you. If you cancel on short notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of the full session amount. I consider "short notice" to be anything  less than 24 hours in advance. I ask that clients communicate as soon as possible when they know they will not be able to attend their session.

What are the benefits of virtual therapy?

I provide virtual counseling services for teen girls and women in the state of Georgia. Virtual therapy is offered through a HIPAA-compliant video platform that can be accessed by computer or phone. Many clients say that it is just the same, if not better than in-person counseling. The convenience of meeting for a counseling session from the comfort of your own home and no commute time to get to the appointment makes therapy much easier to add to their busy schedules.
